I set up this website to have one less excuse for not publishing articles from time to time. In the past I learned that I quite enjoy writing1, but I haven’t managed to do so on a regular basis so far. With a website that I own and for which I pay2, I hope to make it a habit to gather my thoughts, put them into writing, and publish them here.

In order to not bore you with too many details about myself, I’ll keep it short and put the details into footnotes:

Please reach out to my via email if you want to chat about any of these topics or the contents of my posts!

  1. During my first tech job I wrote a few articles for the company’s tech blog which was a lot of fun for me. After that, I only only published very few articles on Medium while learning about Docker and then somehow lost track of it (writing, not Docker, unfortunately). At HashiCorp, I learned to like emails as a medium for conversations that require more thought than a Slack message can take, but because I can’t distract my colleagues with my long emails all day, I’ll now just start my own website. ↩︎

  2. I want to dedicate one of my first posts to this topic. As someone working with and on ☁️ software all day, I felt the obligation to spend way too much time on the technical setup of this website. ↩︎

  3. Actually I was also born and raised in Augsburg. After school, I went to university in Munich from where I moved to Maastricht, then Cologne, and eventually Hamburg where I have spent the last 5 years. After living in some of the biggest cities in Germany, I decided to move back into the suburbs of a smaller city where we now enjoy living a beautiful house close to nature. ↩︎

  4. Before that, I worked as a Software Engineer at Mayflower, SensioLabs, and Jimdo. ↩︎
